"THE POWER OF POSITIVE GOLF"

This two hour workshop is called “THE POWER OF POSITIVE GOLF” and focuses on all things positive – for ALL standards of play.

Would you like to be more 'optimistic' and have more ‘calm confidence’ on the course, whether recreational, match or competition play?

What a great way to start your season. Come and enjoy yourself! Bring a guest!

BENEFITS:

  • Understand why happy, positive golfers play better.
  • Learn some ‘mindset routines’ and tools that you can apply to your game.
  • Increase the likelihood of you ‘getting into the zone’.
  • Learn visualisations, pre-shot routines, practise ‘focus’ and creating your ‘optimal golf state’.
  • Become consciously aware of what is going on in your mental game.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CONTENT:

This workshop is a baseline introduction to your sport mindset. We will cover a number of themes. For those who read widely about golf and have already 'bought into' the concept of a mind/body link, these ideas may be familiar.

This is an 'information dense' event - the focus is on personal LEARNING, IMPROVING, CHANGING.

Using ideas from Mindfulness, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Neuroscience we 'flesh-out' the understanding and processes of playing positive golf.

For example:

  • Why 'being a self-aware athlete' is important to your golf.
  • How we need to be AWARE of thoughts, feelings and behaviours in order to identify 'patterns' of playing.
  • How our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are inextricably linked on the golf course;
  • How we use our physiology;
  • The importance of 'directing attention' to what you want to focus on.
  • The importance of 'the breath';
  • Activating the more useful 'rest-and-digest', parasympathetic nervous system when we play golf;
  • Understanding the conscious and unconscious brain and how that impacts our golf;
  • Understanding that how you 'communicate with yourself' will impact your outcomes;
  • Using visualisation to increase the possibility of positive outcomes;
  • Useful emotional states when we play positive golf;
  • Using all this information in a pre-shot routine.

THE WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE:

  • This is a practical and interactive workshop, supported with powerpoint visuals.
  • It will involve you: talking to and sharing experiences with someone else in the room; reading a script to someone; asking and answering questions; experiencing visualisation and meditation activities.
  • It will involve moving around the room for pair exercises.
  • It will involve thinking 'inwardly', reflection and self-awareness.
  • It will involve 'noticing' what you do on the golf course.

It will be something 'different', and moderately challenging to the way you think about your golf.

I provide all participants with a worksheet and notes to take away.

WHAT THIS WORKSHOP IS NOT:

This particular workshop will NOT focus on technique, golfing 'problems' and/or damage limitation. That is the next workshop in the series!

Although it is lighthearted and fun, it is not an evening of comedy or anecdotes about the Professionals!

"A really interesting workshop with some great insight into the mental challenges of golf. The practical steps Jenny provides to help overcome some of these challenges feel like they will have the intended improvements, (but like anything, you will need to practise them to apply them consistently).

I've already applied one of them in my first round after the workshop with some very encouraging outcomes."

GOLF WORKSHOPS

  • Have you considered running a Golf Mindset Workshop at your Club?
  • This is an opportunity to run a social or a team event.
  • Combine it with a meal or tag it on to the start/end of a society day, or run it as a pre-season workshop for your teams.
  • Perhaps use it to raise money for your golf section or for your Captain's Charity.

"I really enjoyed Jenny’s seminar because she made it all easy to understand and gave us practical tips that we could use straight away on the golf course.  Rather than just listening to a presentation Jenny’s style was interactive with notes to take away from the activities we participated in during the session.  I would definitely recommend Jenny’s seminar to golfers of all levels to learn new ways to cut their handicap.
